Energy

In the field of energy, and specifically oil & gas law, both upstream and downstream, The RULG - Ukrainian Legal Group (RULG) has one of Ukraine's strongest practices - and the country's leading practice in the area of production sharing agreements (PSA). In particular, RULG drafted and assisted in getting enacted both Ukraine's PSA Law and its enabling legislation. You can find more information on the PSA Regime page of this website.

Our expertise in the energy area does not end with Ukraine; since 1992 we have worked on oil & gas projects in Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Azerbaijan for clients ranging from international energy majors to smaller independent companies, and including World Bank, the U.S. Dpartment of Energy, USAID, EU, and other foreign government agencies involved in technical assistance projects in Ukraine's energy sector. At present, exploration and production projects in Ukraine may be carried out under one of two alternative regimes: licensing and production sharing. Our firm has extensive experience with both. In addition to traditional energy experience, for the last several years we have increasingly involved in renewable energy projects

RULG President Dr. Irina Paliashvili has been included in the U.S. based Best Lawyers® publication list of leading lawyers for 2009 as the best lawyer in the energy and natural resources law area for Ukraine.
