На VI Форуме юридических фирм под названием "Развитие рынка юридических услуг в Украине-2010", проводимом Ассоциацией юристов Украины, среди других обсуждался вопрос оценивания партнёров партнёрами юридической фирмы.

"Собственно, соотносящийся с этой проблемой риторический вопрос поставила перед аудиторией Ирина Палиашвили, президент Украинской юридической группы: поскольку в большинстве юридических фирм фактически путь к партнёрству закрыт - как должна происходить смена поколений партнёров? Революционно - кто-то уходит, кто-то приходит, ушедшие создают собственные фирмы, пришедшие - новые порядки, или эволюционно? И что тогда делать с теми, кто был партнёром с самого начала?"

В прошлом году стало известно о создании профессиональной сети CIS Leading Counsel Network, участниками которой, в частности, стали Aequitas (со стороны РК) и Ukrainian Legal Group (cо стороны Украины). Ирина Палиашвили, президент Ukrainian Legal Group, признается, что ее фирме рынок Казахстана интересен. Сейчас есть совместные проекты, однако пока они исходят от украинской компании. "Но мы уверены, что будут генерироваться и проекты из Казахстана, и более широкие проекты через CIS Leading Counsel Network, которые будут включать и Казахстан, и Украину", - говорит г-жа Палиашвили.

Dr. Irina Paliashvili, President of RULG-Ukrainian Legal Group Law Firm, was one of the US-Ukraine Business Council members who shared on VOA their ideas as to what they expect from newly elected Ukrainian authorities:

"We expect stability and transparency, we expect clear rules for investment improvements, and being a lawyer I also have to say that everyone expects fundamental and radical improvements of the legal framework that would lift major barriers to investments, the latter requiring supremacy of law and modern regulation, which aspects are still non-existent in Ukraine".

US-Ukraine Business Council held its first investors training session on how to make use of OPIC services.

OPIC - a U.S. Government Agency that grants loans and provides insurance coverage for U.S. investments overseas - has resumed its operations in Ukraine. OPIC loans may range from 15,000 USD for small-scale businesses to 300 - 400 million USD on large investment projects.

Ms. Irina Paliashvili, President of RULG-Ukrainian Legal Group, said: "I think many of those investors who were disappointed by recent developments now have new expectations. This is not just moral support; they can contact OPIC to receive funds that are extremely difficult to find these days. I believe, therefore, these are excellent opportunities for both reputation and business development".

Yurydychna Gazeta, a newspaper which is widely read and respected within Ukraine's professional legal community, has announced the launch of a unique project -- an Expert Council. The Expert Council is an association of Ukrainian lawyers, People's Deputies and other public officers who will share their professional opinions in various spheres in newspaper articles.
